Apparently, 90% of girls in this community do not further their education after primary school because their parents would rather send their male children to a distant school and have their daughters assist with household chores. Additionally, statistics show that five out of every ten girls who live and grow up in Isotoyo are most likely to become pregnant before the age of 18. This is mainly due to a lack of opportunities for girls to further their education, acquire skills, and be mentored.
